Students are motivated to actively participate in various symposia, paper presentations, and intercollegiate competitions and so on. |

| Value Added Practice |
The students are asked to furnish Social Work issues from newspaper clippings as part of their education and develop their ideas. |

| Field Work |
The Students are sent for fieldwork two days a week. During the first year they are exposed to various organizations like Multinational Companies, Multispeciality Hospitals, Non-Governmental Organizations working in the developing sectors. |
| Rural CAMP |
Social work Students during their second semester have to undergo a one-week camp in rural setting to understand the various social problems and implement intervention strategies based on Social Work methods. |

| Social Lab |
It provides a platform to put the theories into practice adhering to the various methods of Social Work and as per the need of the hour example Street Play, Puppetry, Collage, Brain Storming sessions. |
| Computer Lab |
The Department has an exclusive Computer lab with internet facility to meet the educational needs of the present scenario. |

| Extension Activities |
Disaster mitigation, awareness programme to the Urban / Rural community on current social issues are some of the extension programmes of the department. |

| Block Placement |
Block placement is compulsory and is intended to give the student an opportunity to work as a full time trainee in a selected organization in his/her field of specialization so as to learn the day-today role and tasks of a full time social worker for a period of four weeks after the final semester examination. |
