Dr. K.T. Varkey has impressive credentials comparable to those of the best of educators in accredited colleges and universities across the nation. A distinguished professor of Political Science, he has more than thirty one years of experience in teaching and administration. Dr. Varkey has put in commendable service as the Professor of Political Science at Nirmalagiri College, Kuthuparamba. He was also the Programme Coordinator of National Service Scheme at the University of Calicut and the Principal of Mary Matha Arts and Science College, Mananthavady. As the Chairman of the Board of Studies in Political Science at both PG and UG level and as a member of the faculty of Social Sciences, Kannur University, he has vast experience in curriculum development, policy implementation and planning for educational institutions. He has published 7 books on various aspects of Political Science and International Relations and has traveled widely abroad and in India. He has been to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Bhutan ,China and Rwanda(Africa) . Dr. Varkey is an internationally recognized scholar in the discipline of Political Science and International Relations. At present he is a Senate Member of Bharathiar University and a Peer Team member of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).He is presently the zonal secretary (South Zone) of All India College Principals Council (AICP). He is also the State President of OISCA, Tamilnadu. Dr. Varkey has diligently nurtured the growth and development of CMS College of Science and Commerce over the last eight years and his contribution in raising the quality of education at CMS and maintaining the college as an effective human resource development institution is second to none.
