The Department of Mathematics with Computer Applications offers B.Sc. Mathematics CA and M.Sc. Mathematics. It has a highly dedicated and resourceful team of teachers. The course curriculam in Mathematics covers not only the wide area of pure and applied mathematics but also some of the areas of Industrial mathematics and Computer Science which makes the course multi-disciplinary in nature. A Diploma in Industrial Mathematics at UG level and a Diploma in advanced Mathematical Methods at the PG level are also introduced. The Department has been offering M.Phil. programme from the academic year 2005-06', and has produced seven M.Phil.s so far. The Mathematics association "fluxion" organizes regular guest lectures and seminars with resource persons drawn from reputed academic institutions and industries. The students participate and present papers in many State level seminars organized outside the college. The department produces university ranks and several students get distinction at UG and PG levels every year. It also conducts various value-added programmes like building up the numerical ability of the students that they can fare well in competitive examinations. The departments, through activities like enrichment programmes, remedial classes, tutorials and counselling enhances the academic performance of the students. Our alumni are placed in reputed Software companies and educational institution. Besides, the department offers facilities to the students of other departments in allied Mathematics and PG projects. In the Autonomous stream, the curriculum is updated keeping in tune with the latest advancement in science and technology.
