Curricular Activities

Adopted Continue teaching and Learning process by following the University curriculum
So far University results were very good. The department is getting ranks continuously in both under graduation and post graduation courses.
Industrial / institutional training programme is one which gives hands on experience and pre job exposure
Exposing the students to submit net based assignments, thereby we are providing the opportunity to learn computer skills.
Student’s career support is taken towards higher studies, research activities and to become self entrepreneurs.

Salient Features of the Department

Department has signed an MOU with Helini Biomolecules, Sai Biosciences Research ltd., to strengthen industrial and academic collaboration.
Under earn while you learn programme, students are doing part time job at various institutions.
18 students have completed M.Phil programme in the area of Biotechnology and Microbiology under Bharathiar University and Bharathidasan University.
5 staff members are currently pursuing their doctoral programme.
National and international Symposium / seminar / scientific exhibition were organized in every academic year.
Student scientific seminar / extension programme were conducted by staff and students.
Current industrial training programme were undertaken by UG & PG students.
Department was actively conducting add on programme / compulsory diploma / participatory programme like:

Department placement co coordinator were actively involved in licensing between student and research industries.

Healthy Practice

Highly qualified and competent faculties and quality teaching methodology were adopted (as per ISO & IQAC standard).
Students are equipped with bridge courses like communicative English, Maths, General awareness, Human values & ethics.
Faculty representation in University in University academic board / standing committee.
Industrial visit which makes the students to know the application part of their studies.
Peer team teaching methodology to encourage and motivate the bright students and conducting other scientific seminars presented by students and faculties.
Association activities like inauguration, guest lectures, Exhibition, Seminars, Cultural programme, etc.,
Encouraging the students to participate in national & international symposium / seminar / for poster & paper presentation.
