  The Department

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications & Finance Control offers B.Com.CA,M.Com.(F&C) and Research Programmes leading to the award of M.Phil. The dedicated teachers of this department prepare students to pursue their higher studies and get employed in the highly competitive job market. It imparts value addition courses to all students. It conducts seminars and takes students on industrial visits. Tally package new versions 9, ASP etc. are installed in the computer laboratory to update the knowledge of students. The curriculum is updated according to the changing environment in industry and commerce.

B.Com (CA):

The B.Com (CA) a three year under graduate programme was introduced in the year 2000. It provides the teaching in the area of commerce, accounting and computers applications. It includes the various specialization papers in commerce and computer application subjects. It also includes diploma in Taxation. It maintains a good industry –institution interaction. It highlights the concepts and skills for accountancy and computer applications. The curriculum represents the course response to the evolving and dynamic finance and computer operating system.

Objectives
  • Imparting knowledge in academic through conducive class room environment resulting in effective teaching and learning process.
  • To make the students to pursue higher studies and employable in job market through seminars and industrial visits.
  • Value Added and Diploma Courses being conducted.
  • Updating the curriculum according to the changing environment that taken place in the industry and commerce
M.Com (Finance & Control):

The M.Com (Finance & Control), a two year Post Graduate programme was introduced in the year 1996. It provides teaching & research in the areas of accounting, control & Corporate Finance. It includes the core area of domestic an international Financial Markets (Securities, commodities & currencies),corporate finance, wealth management and risk management for specialization. It maintains a good industry institution interaction. It highlights its future role as a catalyst for new idea, concepts & skills for the financial sector. The curriculum represents the course response to the evolving and dynamic financial system.

Objectives
  • To enrich the students with the practical aspects of their core area of specialization by making regular visits to institution and inviting industry experts to share their views on current issues.
  • To enhance their reasoning & analytical skills with an institutional training & project in any of the core area of choice.
  • To conduct various seminars,guest lectures, work shops & commerce forum to regularly appraise them with current happenings in their area of study.
  • To improve their soft skill with regular work shops to enable them to raise to industry standards.
  • • To enable them to pursue careers in their desired area of work through regular placement efforts.
